The Good old "Dressing Table"

Hello Crafters,

Today's project is an up cycled, altered 3D project. So what's new??? Well...it's a girls "best friend"...at least one of them! As little girls we have grown up watching ourselves in front of it and even now most of us would love to spend hours there!

Any guesses??? Yes, it's the good old "Dresser" or the "Dressing Table"...I saw this tutorial and have been wanting to make a reasonably good size which can hold a few of my crafty knick-knacks.

I have used the jumbo, empty match boxes(6 nos) to make this one. The PP is from Stack 8 and have inked it with distress inks, milled lavender and seedless Preserves.

It is quite a tedious job to lay them on top of each other accurately and measuring the sides, cutting the chip board and making the side panels, top and the bottom, sticking the PP, gessoing it... Felt like a carpenter...but the embellishing part just blew me away!

The pull outs of the drawer is made with jewellery findings and the legs are wooden pegs which I have spray painted in silver. The entire color scheme is purples and silver...was actually tired with the pinks and reds!

I just looooooooooooved doing this up...come on...having grown up with this at home for so many years, it was time to give this little dresser its makeover!

I have used ONLY handmade roses here, in white, lavender, purple and wine. Hope you can see little dew drops on it using glossy accents.

The head board is a separate piece made from Tim Holtz Ornate frame Back and has the scalloped oval as the mirror frame in silver, and on that I have attached the ornate corner from Joy crafts.

The simple "Love" quote and the birds (my fav this season)...i think I have them in most of my projects this month, was a gift from a crafter friend. I so love it.

The mat on the table is inked heavily with distress inks and the inspirational quote is from Inkadinkado.

The side panels have a silver cosmic border from memory box and some lace.

I enjoyed every second of doing up this mini dresser...This one is for all you Lovely ladies, who (like me) love to take a secret glance every time you pass by this “companion” of a lifetime! A humble dedication to the Good old dresser from me...

Hope you all liked it. Do let me know your feedback. Am sure we would like to wake up every day, looking at this beauty in real, but as of now, this crafted beauty sits in my craft room inspiring me to do “more”...which is why I chose that quote.

Until then,

Happy Crafting and Re cycling.

Hugs.
